Air brake analysis of rocket model

In this project, I did what is the drag force of the rocket model experienced two different conditions while the Airbrake was open and the airbrake was closed, with the help of Autodesk CFD software. The model was created in Autodesk fusion 360.

Here you can see the static compressible CFD simulation study and transient compressible CFD simulation study of the same case with 100 m/s free stream velocity.

Static compressible CFD simulation

In static compressible CFD simulation, the rocket experienced a 2.72 N drag force while air breaks are closed.

In static compressible CFD simulation, the rocket experienced an 85.01 N drag force while air breaks are open.

We can observe here that after opening the air brakes of the rocket, rocket drag increased by 30.25

Transient compressible CFD simulation

In the transient compressible CFD simulation, the rocket experienced a 2.13 N drag force while air breaks are closed.

In the transient compressible CFD simulation, the rocket experienced a 77.96 N drag force while air breaks are open.

We can observe here that after opening the air brakes of the rocket, rocket drag increased by 35.6
